Aragosta

In May of 2016, my husband Alex and I stayed here when I was five months pregnant with our daughter Alaina; it was then the Goose Cove Resort. We visited because Alex had many ancestors that lived in Deer Isle and we made it part of our baby-moon trek. This year, I saw the resort was in the news after undergoing a full renovation to a modern eclectic look and high-end menu offerings. Intrigued by the updates and the food, I thought it would be a perfect place to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. Views, food, and some much-needed relaxing.

We were welcomed our first night in SeaGlass with a gorgeous view of Goose Cove and an excellent charcuterie board with personal mini bottles of Prosecco and with crackers.

We visited the deck for happy hour where they had three cocktail options and various beers on tap. I had the margarita and Alex had the Windbreaker from Mast Landing.

Cheesn’ at the beach bar.

Both mornings we were offered a sweet or savory option for breakfast. We had the grits with poached eggs and bacon and the Grand Marnier french toast.

So many bunnies!

We hiked the Barred Island Trail, a 2.4-mile loop with a gorgeous slice of beach. Along the way we poked out and could see the beach bar of Aragosta.
